6. LINK IMAGES TO BLOG POST

Select the correctly sized image (you will likely want the largest file). Next, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and you will find the HTML direct link. Select this entire link and push “CTRL C” to copy the link.

Now, go back to your first web browser that contains your new post.
Enter in the following:

<img src="paste HTML (URL) link here" />
</center>

Note: you can paste the HTML link by holding down the “CTRL” key and pressing “V”.

Repeat the process by going back to Flickr and copying the HTML link for each image you want displayed. You can add a caption, story, text, etc, between the images if you desire.

Preview your post to make sure the images are in the order you like.
If so, click PUBLISH! And you are done! Enjoy the HUGE pictures!

5. ADD IMAGES

Open up two web browsers (I prefer Internet Explorer, since most users are also using this browser.). In the first browser, go to your blog and click on “NEW POST.” Stay on the “edit HTML” page as shown below.

In the other web browser, log into your Flickr account, and locate the image you want to show on your blog. Once you found your selected images, click on the image so it is the only one showing on your screen. Along the top of the image, click on the link that says, “all sizes” as shown below:

4. UPLOAD IMAGES TO INTERNET

After your images have been correctly sized, upload them to Flickr, Photobucket, or another image-hosting company. Flickr and Photobucket are both free and easy to use. I personally use Flickr, because I like the sharpness and detail that is preserved.

2.SELECT IMAGES FOR BLOG

Locate the images you want to display on your computer. Copy those images into a new folder for easy reference. (I like to create a new folder on my desktop that contains the images I want to use for my blog.)

REMEMBER to use copies of your original images. (Always have a back-up copy of your files!)

3. RESIZE IMAGES FOR PHOTO BLOG TEMPLATE

Resize the images in Photoshop (or other image-editing software) using the following specifications:

One-column template:
Horizontal images: 900 pixels wide (max)
Vertical images: 450 pixels wide (max)

Two-column template:
Horizontal images: 650 pixels wide (max)
Vertical images images: 450 pixels wide (max)

2. Select the entire text by pressing the “CTRL” key and “A” at the same time. (This is a shortcut for “select all”.) 3. Press “CTRL” and “C” at the same time to copy the box contents. (Or you can do a right-click on your mouse and select “copy”.) 4. Open a new Internet Explorer window or tab and log into your blogger account 5. Go to “Layout” and then “Edit HTML” 6. *Backup your current template* by clicking on “Download full template” 7. Click inside the HTML box and press “CTRL” and “A” (at the same time) to select all of the code within the box. 8. Press “CTRL” and “V” (at the same time) to paste the HTML code you copied from Huge Photo Blog. 9. Press “Save” and you are done! View your HUGE photo blog in a new window to see the results! 10. So you want bigger photos on your blog? As a professional photographer, I couldn’t agree more!

Who really wants this:

When you can have this?

or this...

And, when you can have it FREE?

Bigger is better when it comes to showcasing your photographs. After all, you didn’t spend all those hours in post-production in Photoshop to let your final masterpiece look like garbage. Who can really see how great your photography is, when they are looking at tiny, grainy, pixilated, blurry, rubbish-rendition copies of your work?

After spending hours researching the web for a photo blog that could display BIG pictures, I was disappointed to see that there were hardly any options available. So, I created my own few templates by modifying the blogger Minima template. Choose between a One-column, 900-pixel masterpiece photo blog, and a Two-column 650-pixel image area photo blog.

Copy the HTML code from the template of your choice into your blogger account, and follow the instructions found here to get the HUGE pictures you want!
